Grows in roadsides, disturbed coastal sites, fynbos and on vacant lots in the Karoo.
Origin/distribution, remarks:
The flowers are pink or violet to purple, or even white or yellow. Native to the Mediterranean area. In South Africa known from Gauteng, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape and Western Cape. Considered as an invasive species.
