An understorey tree in high elevation humid forests.
Origin/distribution, remarks:
Endemic to the southwestern highlands of Ethiopia. Commercially grown in dozens of countries between the Tropic of Capricorn and the Tropic of Cancer. One of the two main coffee species; the other one is C. canephora.
