| Origin/distribution, remarks: | This species has a Palearctic distribution. European birds migrate southwards to the Mediterranean region and North Africa. Asian birds migrate to Baluchistan, Azerbaijan,Iran, the Indian subcontinent and to China. Introduced in Australia. |
