Habitat:Its native habitat consists of rocky slopes and pebble-covered stream bottoms. In Western Europe it is commonly found on ruderal terrain such as building sites, along railways, on roadsides, along ditch banks with a preference for somewhat moist soil.
Flowering time:May – December in Western Europe. In its native area all year but mainly between October and February.
Origin/distribution, remarks:Native to Southern Africa. Introduced in Europe around 1900, probably by wooltransports.
