Habitat:Rocky and sandy sea shores, where it grows just above the high-tide mark, and nearby lowland forests.

Origin/distribution, remarks:Native to southern coastal India, East Africa, Malaysia and Australia. Because of its decorative leaves, fragrant flowers, and spreading crown, it is best known as an ornamental plant.
